Oakleaf Learning

Privacy notice

This notice explains how Oakleaf Learning collects and uses personal information. Oakleaf Learning is run by Asfand Khan, who is the data controller for the information described here.

What I collect

When you enquire or book lessons, I collect the information you give me: parent or guardian name, email address and phone number; the student's name, year group, school exam board and learning needs; and lesson records such as dates, progress notes and invoices.

Why I use it

I use this information to reply to enquiries, arrange and deliver lessons, send progress updates and invoices, and keep the records I am required to keep for tax purposes. The lawful bases are performing our agreement to provide tuition, and legal obligation for financial records.

Who I share it with

I do not sell or share your information for marketing. It is stored with the email and video-call services I use to run lessons, which act on my behalf. If other tutors teach your child in future, they will see only what they need to teach those lessons.

How long I keep it

I keep lesson and contact records for as long as your child has lessons and for 12 months afterwards. Invoices are kept for six years, as required by HMRC.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold, or object to how it is used, by emailing hello@oakleaflearning.com. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
